Charter:Rum Runners Charter Info Rum Runners is a 10 and 25 man charter sponsored by the guild Razors Edge. We currently have six leads: Cyria, Sashivna, Djaq, Aurelian, Pythlyt, and Gwinmo. Mission Statement Our goal is to provide a casual, entry-level learning environment for the LO community while offering a steady raid outlet for the members of Razors Edge. Raid Makeup We typically slot 2 tanks, 2-3 Healers (usually 3), and 5-6 DPS (usually 5). If you are dual-specced, please send a PM to the leads to let us know more about your off-spec and if you are comfortable working in that role. Slotting Depending on the content, we try to give slight slotting preference to members of Razors Edge. Regulars with the Charter are often given slotting preference to maintain a more cohesive unit. We’re typically on the look-out for folks who want to run with us as regulars. Standbys and Check-in Procedure All raiders are expected to be ready for invites at least 15 minutes prior to raid time. All standbys should whisper one of the slotted leads at this time to let us know that you are ready to be pulled in. Empty slots will be filled with standbys 5 minutes prior to raid. The only exception to this would be someone who has let us know ahead of time that they will be cutting it close to pull-time via PMs. If a slot does become open, standbys who have checked in will be given priority. When the raid is full, standbys who have checked in will be told via whisper that the raid is full. If you have a last minute cancellation, please send a PM on the LO boards to all leads to let us know. We’re a pretty forgiving bunch of miscreants. Requirements Rum Runners uses LO Ventrilo, so please have this installed and ready to go. Most of our information is relayed via Vent, so it’s important that you can hear us. It’s also important if you want in on the jokes. Fish feasts are provided, but if you use a different type of food, it’s up to you to bring it. We have some fine fishermen and cooks among us, but most of us don’t carry everything for everyone to all the raids. Flasks and potions should also be brought, although we are sometimes kind and offer to share what we’ve got. (Pirates who share? Imagine that!) We like our raiders to have the following add-ons (or their equivalent) installed and updated: Omen, ora2, DBM, Decursive (for druids, pallies, mages, and priests), and PallyPower (for pallies, duh!) There are no separate channels for anyone. Healing assignments are given in raid-chat, as are tank assignments. Attitude and Personality The majority of our core group is a close-knit, good-natured bunch, and we joke around quite a bit. Our goal is to create a comfortable (for us), casual atmosphere that doesn’t place undue pressure on anyone. It’s a game, not a competition, and we treat it as such. It’s been said that we should have an NC17 rating on our raids. Don’t say you weren’t warned. Expect us to laugh about wiping and make raunchy jokes about various encounter mechanics. Also expect that if Sashivna is running loot, there will also be jokes about the names of said loot items. If any of this is offensive to you, there are lots of other charters that are far more serious than we are. Charter Discretion Stuff • All Skins, Herbs, and Mines are free for all. Whoever gets it is welcome to it. However, we encourage setting up a rotation in the case we have 2 miners, 2 skinners, etc. Any rare/epic items these folks receive will be turned over to the Raid Leads for end raid greed loot distribution. • Our Master Looter will set the loot threshold to rare and round robin. If your loot corpse has a green on it, you keep it. However, this might change due to the loot of the expansion. This does NOT include “Craft/Token Items” • Blue items – Gems, BoE gear that is not purchased. These are considered Greed Loot and will be distributed by /random greed loot at the end of the run. • Craft/Token Items (i.e. Marks of the Ilidari, Hearts of Shadow, Wartorn Scraps, ect) is our designation for items that are necessary to craft or purchase later loot in an instance. These items will be collected by the Raid Leaders, and banked for the progression of the raid. Anyone who raids with this Charter, and has all the other necessary items for crafting, may speak to a Charter Lead to request these items. These items will be guarded closely, until a surplus is amassed. • Unpurchased Patterns - all patterns will be offered for greed roll first to people that have the appropriate profession/skill to use the item - and that will learn the item immediately. They will then be offered for pure greed. • BoE Epics, Bidding on off-spec, etc. -- Although not specifically charter discretion, as leads we often get asked our "policy" on bidding on BoE gear and rolling for off-specs. Our point of view is that your points are your points and you should spend them as you see fit. If you want to spend your points on BoE for an alt, for AHing, whatever, we won't hold it against you. That alt may be needed for a future raid, or the money you get from the sell may be used for gems, enchants, consumables, etc. -- all of which ultimately benefit any raids you attend with us. This is the same for bidding on off-spec. Heck, some of us change our roles in one raid often enough that there is sometimes no distinction between "main" and "off" specs.
