I know a few people here use Cast Party. I downloaded it the other day and in general I liked it. The one thing that I did not like was that it picked the rank of the spell that I cast for me. For example I was casting on targets that hadn't lost any health yet (I was in IF) and it was casting rank 1 flash heal for me. Is there a way to set what ranks will be cast (ie. Always the highest)? I just don't like a mod picking which spell to cast based on how much health the target has at the moment because that can change very quickly. I did see where you set the key bindings and it says stuff like (I can't remember exactly) Left Click - CastHeal but I couldn't find anywhere to see what it means by "CastHeal". Any insight would be helpful, I have a feeling that after this patch CTRAs decurser will probably break and this seems like a nice way to do it a little faster than totally manually. |

That's odd, make sure you have the most recent version. The rank chooser was always the nicest feature. I tell it to use a heal/buff on a group member and it automatically picks the highest version usable on that person. I've been using Castparty... well since Ivymoon was level 20. | |

So, am I the only person on the planet that dosn't use any casting mods? Especially when it comes to casting heals, I feel like it's just cheating.  Note: I'm all for casting mods for pally buffs, since you're casting a lot of different buffs on a lot of different people every 5 minutes. That's just crazy. But, as a priest, my shortest buff duration is 10 mintues on Shadow Protection, which I rarely have to use anyway. --

It's not really cheating for me because I still decide which heal or buff to cast (not the rank - that's automated, just which spell). It just makes the selecting the person a lot easier. | |

I use only two - CTRA's cutoff, and another that automatically picks lower ranks of buffs on lower leveled people. Things that auto-pick healing ranks based on damage taken are, IMO, cheating. That's why I have various ranks on my hotbars anyway... --

I like to use Benecast to put the little buttons beside the character portrait (very useful for 5-man groups especially - makes it really obvious when someone is cursed / poisoned). I disable the 'choose heal ranks' functionality though, although not really from any moral high ground viewpoint - I don't trust it to not mess up :-P. I choose lower rank HT(s) from my hotbar thingy. --

yes Jorlana, you can define a mouse click to any specific spell. it only chooses the most efficient heal if you go with that option. it's all in the config file.

I tried something like that for a little while, but not being a primary healing class, it just drove me nuts and got in the way. Besides, paladins only really have three heals (top rank holy light, rank 4 holy light with BoL, flash of light), and the program isn't smart enough to tell which situation to use them. |

Not at all. Not that i think its cheating or anything but i find them to get in the way of my healing routine rather than help. I tried out Cast party for a while and ended up deleting it rather quickly cause it just annoyed me. |
