I have no idea about how much threat mind control does generate, though it is considerable. However, I do know that I have, on many occassions, successfully pulled aggro back from the priest. It's far from impossible, it just takes several seconds of dedicated threat building. Taunt, of course, helps tremendously, and I'm not sure if I've ever actually pulled threat back from a mind-control without taunt. Therefore, the saying that it's "nearly impossible" to pull threat back from a monster that was mind-controlled is bogus. It just takes quite a bit of hate building. Number-crunching will have to be done by someone else, however. --

Hail Well this might sound old skool, these days. For so far I know when the burning crusade is released the reduced the threat of sunders a bit as well more skills are added. btw the link on the above post doesnt work anymore But can anyone give a more precise update with the new talents about threat? I am reading this stuff and it is a great guide and help for any warrior to understand their tanking a bit. As well other classes have a better understanding about their character as well. I might not be one of your raiders, but I still luv the stuff you discuss. I hope I can return the favor one day. My main character is offcourse a warrior for allmost 2,5 years I guess, these days I do organisation of raids itself in a raiding guild Yours Faithfully Feralis 2th GM of Memento Mori External affairs officer Dragonblight-EU alliance --

Okay. |
Wow, that post is incredibly outdated and inaccurate. Most notably, the "110% rule" actually only applies to melee; ranged pull aggro when they hit 130% of the tank's threat. So if you can stay out of melee range, do it. You also don't need to generate 110% of someone's threat when you taunt off them to keep the mob. It's just that some people don't stop attacking and exceed the threat you've just gained by taunting by 10%/30% again. This isn't perfect either, but for anyone interested in a more accurate guide, check this out: http://evilempireguild.org/guides/kenco2.php |

Not all raid locks will be 21/40 SB since some raid groups will desire a lock with the shadow embrace talent. It is possible to have an affy/demon lock with 30% reduced threat on affy spells and 20% otherwise... although this is probably not a great raid build. --
There is no point to being self-centered. In the end you only hurt yourself. |

At that point they wouldn't need ANY of the above threat reduction as their DPS numbers would be so low they tank could fall asleep and still hold aggro off of them. --

this is it for a winner! |
This topic is over two years old. Correcting some notions about BWL gear is absolutely irrelevant now. Unless someone wants to do a full Burning Crusade update with new talents and abilities, it's probably best to let this specific thread die. | |
