Ooh, tax refund. Maybe I'll be getting my own bluray player sooner than I thought .. :) Been holding off on getting new movies precisely because I wasn't sure if I was getting a player or not. --

I picked it up today after thinking I needed something new to watch sometime this weekend when I'm not shoveling snow from the blizzard that's hitting the east coast. Figure if my gf and her sister both said the movie was 'Cute' that it's worth buying, and it should be a good way to get me back into zombie movies since i got burned out on them after having several zombie dreams last year. | |

Also you want to be sure the system can be updated, ideally over teh Intarwebs. Blu-ray 3D standard was only recently finalized, so you may want to verify your player cna be upgraded to it. Sony has already confirmed the PS3 can, so I'd assume their players that are Internet updateable would also be compatible. I did see an HDMI 1.4 standard announced the other day, which includes the 3D standards, but I'd guess that would require a hardware upgrade and we likely wouldn't see compatible players for a while. (Which confuses me as to what the difference would be compared to things like the PS3 which Sony said could run 3D.) I'd say peep the following players... Sony BDP-S360 $117 Playstation 3 (Slim) $300 For movies I go to Amazon. They are way cheaper then everywhere else, and often things go on sale. Like back around late October I got Constantine and Music & Lyrics for $10 each. =D --

The absolute worst one happened when I was really, really sick: feverish, vomiting, laying in bed under a pile of blankets. I had constant waking fever dreams that I was turning into a zombie and eating my three-year-old son alive. Yeah... I kinda laid off the zombie stuff after that for awhile myself. |

Not much of a horror guy myself, but Zombieland is just funny ... :) I still have nightmares from one of the Freddy movies (I forget which one, maybe the third one? The one where Freddy takes over the motorcycle and kills the guy riding it) from when I was a kid. And a couple others I saw bits of (The Gate and Troll) too. Not all that often any more, but once in a while I wake up with images of that kid with the eyeball in his palm or the troll with the ring with the needle. It's probably been 20 years or so since I saw any of them ... :) And I'll be totally honest - some weird part of me is still afraid of the dark ... :) When my wife is away on travel, I leave a light on when I go to bed ... :) --

The Deep Thinker |
hah that reminds me of when my buddy got silent hill 2 like 8 or 9 years ago. My him and our girlfriends turned off all the lights in the house ( it was just us, his folks were out of town) and then we played it. Needless to say we were jumping at everything, no one went to the bathroom with out someone to watch out for zombie monsters or whatever. Nothen worse than haven to take a leek when your best bud scratches on the door to the bathroom making you water the walls XD. we called it quits after we heard something come into the house when we were upstairs. It was his dog but god damn we thought we were all gonna die painful deaths. fell asleep in a puppy pile in the middle of the biggest room in the house with all the lights in the house on, and a array of weapons around us. --

My zombie fix usually came from reading the Marvel Zombie and Army of Darkness comics each month. I've been reading them since they started a few years ago but it wasn't until last summer I started having zombie dreams. The first one was rather boring and my gf told me that I didn't see how serious a zombie attack was because of it. It had me and some friends walking around a mall and in the center there were some zombie rights groups that were fighting over who was able to take over the mall for the weekend. Apparently the mall double booked the groups and didn't realize that the slow moving 1960/70's zombies and the fast moving 1990/2000 zombies didn't get along. The last one I had was the only one that I died in. I was traveling though what seemed to be an abandoned town and the people I was with decided we should stop and go into a mall for some supplies and possibly catch a movie just for some entertainment. As we get to the movie theater (which looks like it wants to be a haunted house, might have been near Halloween) we start hearing something behind us. As the group turns around we're caught in a zombie rush. After that dream I had to sleep with the lights on, after I was awake for about a hour. On the 'plus side' gf and her sister both seemed very pleased about the dream. |

Heh. That first dream sounds just like Tokyo from the Megatokyo webcomic ... :)

(Exclusive) Things to consider... Little Big Planet - a lot more fun and addictive than it appears. =D Wipeout HD (Haven't played it yet, but the Wipeout franchise is really the only racing game I do play.) Super Stardust HD (My most played game on PS3.) Blast Factor (I play this quite a bit.) Savage Moon (haven't gotten to play much, but the first few levels seem overly slow and just kinda 'meh'. I'd have been happier with a lower price.) --
