For the life of me I have not been able to figure out how the second boss works in the Oculus, Varos Cloudstrider. I have tried looking around for it but I just can't find anything. I know that somehow 1/3 of the platform is unsafe to stand on, but I cannot tell which part it is. If anyone knows how to tell what region that is so I can stay out and stop getting blasted with 9k arcane damage please let me know.

You will see purple lightning shooting out from him in a sort of web. That web is unsafe. As soon as you see it, move to the part of the platform that is not covered by the web, so you don't get zapped. If you are the tank, that may just mean rotating him a bit... if you are ranged, that means running. It helps to try to position your camera above your head to see the web more clearly.

Just to add to what Kray was saying. He will shoot out two types of beams towards the edges of the platform, a thin set and a thick set. The thin ones show where he is going to be shooting the thick damaging ones in a few seconds. The cone is generally in a 90 degree arc so if you keep him tanked in the middle of the platform there is alot of room to move around, just watch out for the roaming eye beams of DOOM! Cheers, E --

Speaking of Occulus, how the hell do you beat the last boss? I tried for an hour with a group, and when he banishes himself at around 50-60% and the orbs come out, my group died every time.

Only way I've been able to do it successfully on Heroic is with 2 greens and 2 reds. You need to keep the green's debuff up on him all the time, which means one of your greens is going to be losing a lot of health, which means they can't do as much healing, so having the other green free to just heal all the time is helpful Two reds is nice because one can tank adds and one can tank the boss and if the boss tank dies, the add tank can pick him up and hopefully save the day. |

Kite the orbs. There's a variety of strategies for various combinations of RGB to beat the boss, but the constant in every one for P2 is RUN AWAY.

Thanks for the help, I will try putting my Camera above my head facing down to help see the 'bad' zone. And for the dragons if you all just run out and away when he does the orb thing you should be fine and then just come back when he is done.

I realize this is an old topic, but having done this boss fight now, I thought I'd add a nugget in hopes that it helps someone else out on Cloudstrider at some point. My group stayed really close to the tank for the entire encounter (by extension, we stayed close to the boss). This made it very easy to just run through the boss to his other side every time we saw the thin lightning bolts. Got out of the big web in plenty of time every time. |

If your entire party groups together, you're far more at risk for space laser. The tactic isn't without its downsides, so be careful.
