Called my grandfather earlier to thank him for his service, he's a vet of one of the nastier battles of WWII (and I can never recall which, to my embarassment). Also observed 2 minutes of silence at 11:00 AM this morning for our allies who still observe in that manner. |

I haven't seen my dad at all today, but if I had, I would've given him a big sloppy kiss and a hug and thanked him for all the entertaining and sometimes tragic stories he's told me over the years when he was stationed in Okinawa during the Vietnam War. I already sent a message to my cousin today, who served in the second Iraq War. Semper Fidelis!
