Shadowguarde Sunder Monkey |
So I finally have Dythe, my rogue to 70. Human sword specced. Until 69 I used the Blue sword from HH (purchasable at 60 and honored) MH and Adamantite Rapier offhand. Hit SLabs for the first part of the KZ key quest. And go the blue dagger of Murmur. Its 20 DPS better than my HM blue so using it (once my skill is reasonable) is a no brainer. So I now have 350 daggers skill--and the Whispering Blade of Slaying MH. Still have a sword OH. Hit SH--because the quest reward blues are /sweet/. Kill Kargath--and get the Demon Blade Eviscerator. Lovely weapon. Except my unarmed is 227. And it is MH only. But is a lot more DPS than my OH and has better yellow damage than the dagger. So now I am a human sword specced rogue with no swords. I fully expect to find a mace upgrade before I am done grinding revered with SSO. But fun times. --

I know the feeling, for me it was fists. I remember somewhere that the best way for a gearing rogue is to let your weapons decide your spec. It might be worth it to you to go dagger spec for a bit. You might already know this but the biggest thing for combat spec is just to have a really fast offhand, 1.5 or 1.6 would be recommended, this can be significantly more important than total DPS. If you like PVP the merciless weapons are amazing... anyway, grats on getting the rogue to 70! | |

i must say that as a dagger rogue it's much easier getting weapons when they drop in raids. all the other rogues want the swords that drop, so i have virtually no competition for daggers. of corse i've got a sweet sword from ZA now *sigh* such is the life. congrats on the spiffy new rogue man ;) --

Even if you DON'T like pvp, the merc weapons are the best you'll get for a long while. Just use the fist MH, stick the dagger OH, go sub tree, and go pvp till you have the honor and tokens you need, then grab the swords. Hell, I still keep the MH merc sword on Dheriana for stam fights and for pvp. |

I would try to get the Latro's set. The offhand is better than the merciless offhand, even with the increased dps. Especially with the changes to expertise. Then if you at least get that offhand go combat fist/swords. That's what I'd do. But then I'm far more PVE oriented. And if you have the chance get bladefist from heroic SH or get exalted aldor for the sword there. --
