For the most part it's a solid spec, but I think you're really overlooking the potential of Maelstrom Weapon and Static Shock. Maelstrom Weapon + Lava Burst is going to make those points you wanted to put in Elemental Devastation DEADLY! http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/shaman/talents2.html?tal=05003000000000000000000030505233105021335311523105100000000000000000000000000 There's the build I'm looking at for Nostraka. --

So Brog, I just have a problem with the Static Shock. Would we actually be using LS over WS? Because I was thinking that we would have WS on most of the time and that we wouldn't need that talent. EDIT: This is what I'm looking at now http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/shaman/talents2.html?tal=35003000000000000000000030505233105021335311520105100000000000000000000000000 --

Yeah, the assumption would be that you'd be trying to run Lightning Shield as much as possible for boosted DPS, switching to Water Shield only when you're starting to get low on mana. Think of it the same way as how the prefered DPS armor for a mage is Molten Armor, but will use Mage Armor as needed for regen.

What's the word on the effectiveness of that magma shock, or whatever it's called?

Looks like solid damage on Lava Burst. The reason it's going to be big in enhancement rotations is that if Flame Shock is on the target it'll consume it for an auto-crit, which in turn will mean an elemental devastation proc, which in turn will allow you to stack up towards an instant Lava Burst with Maelstrom Weapon...you get the idea ;-) Net result should be near 100% uptime on Elemental Devastation for 9% melee crit. --

I moved one point from Convection to Elemental Focus. I think that'll give more mana overall. Remember that all that juicy crit rating will count for spells as well as melee, so that Elemental Focus is going to be proc'ing A LOT. --

This is gonna be insane DPS for pre-WotLK. I'm really looking forward to see how much my DPS goes up with my current gear, once they implement the changes. EDIT: Oh wait, are they going to change the gear as well? Or will we not get +crit gear until we get into Northrend? --

I bet it changes with 3.0. A lot of the talents and such are based on spell power now. So if they bother to convert spell damage and healing to spell power I would think they would do it all. | |

I already replied to the other thread, but I'll post here: In current beta, all mail with strength was given 2 AP per Strength and the strength was removed. For co-efficents: Almost all hybrids have an attack power *and* spell power co-efficent on all abilities. They stack up and make the end result product. Right now scaling on this is a bit crazy so it may be changed, but the bottom line is that the answer is "No, shaman talents haven't been rendered worthless". I'll give some insight to some tests on the new enhancement talents: Imp Stormstrike: Big damage boost, extra charges don't work yet but its an easy fix. Must have talent. Mental Dex: Required talent. Kinda sucks because it adds more bloat to the tree when the middle of enhance is so crazy with "must have" talents anyway because of all the linking. But you gotta have it because the only mail that exists now is caster and what is now hunter mail. Spectral Transformation: Works well, especially since Ghost Wolf is working indoors now (unconfirmed if that is bugged or intended) however its great for PvP. Not enough talents to take it for PvE. Static Shock: Extra charges on LS don't work, the proc works. Its less than 1% of total damage in long duration testing, and due to lack of water shield, makes you run out of mana faster. And with Maelstrom Weapon, you want mana. Maelstrom Weapon: The biggest DPS increase in the tree when combined with Lava Burst. Until then its average (worth taking though). With this talent you can Flame Shock, and Lava Burst it off every 8 seconds, rinse and repeat. Which means every 8 seconds this talent gives you an additional 4000 damage (that's how much lava burst crits for at 75 with T6 enhance gear) or closer to 5000+ if you have elemental fury. Math that out, 5000 / 8 (the cooldown of Lava Burst) and that's a 625 DPS increase. I'm not even 80 yet. Feral Spirit: Their abilities are NYI. The base damage adds about 150 DPS (while they are up) tops. Unless blizzard adds to wolf damage in addition to the abilities, it will not be worth taking over elemental fury (although, admittedly...most NYI talents when finally implemented have been amazing) My final spec will probably be something around this: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/shaman/talents2.html?tal=55333010000100000000000030305003105011335211520105000000000000000000000000000 Why one less talent in Imp WF and DW Spec: Because you can't get elemental fury otherwise, and frankly, elemental fury is too good to pass up. The Death Knight WF equivalent is 20% and doesn't stack anyway. So having 18% when they aren't around won't kill anyone. Now, if they impliment Feral Spirit to be better than Elemental Fury, then it will be closer to this: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/shaman/talents2.html?tal=55303010000000000000000030405003105021335311520105100000000000000000000000000 Taking out the Ele Fury and 3x Ele Warding for Feral Spirit, Fill out WF/DW Spec. 1 more in +int. While enhancement is very uphill for the first 5 levels of beta, don't listen to forum naysayers. The last 5 levels and level 80 itself you are more than competitive with everyone else again. --
