Which is why I tend to go heavy down the dodge route when tanking that trash. Alot of paladins stack SBR but in my opinion it's the knockdowns that get you killed when it hits the fan. I'd still use the two stam trinkets there if I had the option but I certainly understand your reasons for keeping the watch handy. --

Unless there's just trash out there I'm unaware of.*shrug* (always a possibility) But yeah higher avoidance is always good for the reason you stated.;) All mobs and bosses 3+ levels above you can crush. ?? skull level bosses are classified as 3 levels above you for purposes of weapon skill / crit / crush. Specific bosses have their crush ability turned off (since certain fights are impossible to reach uncrushable (Hydross) or crushes would just plain devastate you if they got through (discounting druids and baer armor) (Azgalor, most of Sunwell) In Wrath though, they're effectively getting rid of crushing blows by making it so that only mobs and bosses 4+ levels above you can crush. So unless anyone is planning on tanking a Wrath raid boss at 79, we'll no longer have to worry about hitting the magic 102.4 number to deal with crushes. Stacking avoidance versus stamina/armor on the other hand, will continue to be the question of choice :) --

For most tanks it becomes a bad luck component as they are all active uncrushable. I'm not a big fan of wiping to bad luck. --

Heh, ya had it inverted, hence the wallotext :) Only specific bosses don't crush. And yeah, 73 trash can... though their crushes aren't generally fatal so they're less noticeable. Gotta keep the holy shield running though *grin*

Though I spam holy shield all the time and could tank 73s every week and just not have noticed. I can be a nub sometimes.;) --

Not just elites or raid mobs, all 3+ mobs. You can take a level 5 character out and fight level 8 things and you'll see the occasional crush. Back when Morrinh, Mandaliet and Khan were leveling together, we'd always take on instances while the final boss was 5 levels higher then we were, is where I first started learning that blocked hits can't crush or crit and special abilities can't glance (before alot of the heavy theorycrafting started getting done(or I knew where EJ was :) ). Most definetly ate a few crushes back then, trash and boss. As gear improves though, and especially for a pally (who gears and breathes uncrushability in the raid game) you get used to the routine and you miss the fact that uncrushable counts for 73 trash too *grin* --

And then there's the Channelers in Mags, the only Level 72 mobs in the game that can crush a level 70. (They have an extra 5 weapon skill for some reason, which is what does the trick.) | |

Eh well they really aren't a threat anyhow unless your the last tank on the rotation and your a bit on the undergeared side. --

That is interesting to know. It makes sense, once you think about it, but I wouldn't have thought about it until one crushed me (and lord knows Omethelon is unlikely to see Magtheridon prior to Wrath anyway, so anything that glances at Ornalis is likely to crush ... :).
