Ok so im a total n00b when it comes to most mods and forums.

So witht hat in the DB & Friends wws reports (see other forum)

Some rather odd reports are given. Just wondering if anyong can explane these or is this another mod that seems broken when it comes to me? I have this problem alot when dealing with mods of almost any type. any assistance would be great as im trying to become more of a raider and less of a "Gnome" that i am :)

Are you talking about this thread? If some of the logs in there look broken, it's because they expire after a couple of weeks unless the person who's hosting them has a paid account on the WWS site (which most people don't bother with). The recent reports in the list are still available, though you might get put into a queue when trying to access them (another "feature" of having a free account).

WWS isn't actually a mod, it's a website (wowwebstats.com) which takes an upload of a WoW combat log, parses it, and displays a detailed report of who did what over the course of a raid. You don't need any special mods or equipment to view it, besides a web browser.

It's a feature of the game. Combat log recording is off by default; you toggle it on and off with the /combatlog command. The log is saved in your WoW directory in the "Logs" folder.

You're right, distance and absence can produce some funny results. There's a limit on range for recording actions (200 yards? I think is the number), and if someone went afk and the raid went on without them for a while, then their combat log would not record what happened during the time the raid was more than 200 yards away. Or if someone disconnected, or died and ran back to the group, there would also be segments missing from their log.

WWS does provide a feature where people's combat logs can be merged to produce a more accurate report, but this is often not worth the effort. If you'd like to start recording your own logs, you can do it with the /combatlog command. I use a mod called Loggerhead that automatically turns the log on and off based on what zone you are in, which makes it easy. Then you can go through the log yourself, merge it with someone else's in the raid, or create your own WWS account to upload it. Your own log may record someone else's stuff inaccurately, but it should be accurate for YOUR contributions to the raid, which is the most helpful thing to look at in the report.
