Oh and another thing to note is that I heard somewhere that FD will no longer be tied to Spell Hit but instead use Physical Hit!!! Should see ALOT less resists with that change :D

Cheers,

Actually, not so much that.

In Wrath, there IS no Spell Hit. Or Spell Crit, or Spell Haste. There's only Hit, Crit, and Haste. Works the same whether you're talking about spells or physical, so yeah, you'll get a big boost out of that on resists.

I think it's still going to use the spell hit table - meaning, 16% resist chance or whatever, just like for mages - but hit rating gear will affect it, meaning resists go WAY down.

Also, I took a look at the DPS tree for Cats and the like on Petopia, and the difference between what you can do without that talent, and with it, is pretty dang huge.

Oh interesting, hope it works out well mechanically and doesn't fubar up things >< Anywho, started tossing around some more points in the talent calculator and came up with a non Serpent Sting dependent build.

Only thing its really missing is GftT :( Tho I could move the two points from focused fire over. I am thinking that pet focus is going to be a lot more valuable in Wrath, especially with all the new pet abilities and such.

This is probably what I will respec to initially once Wrath hits for leveling :) And will probably pick up a tanking pet to level with, most likely a bear for swipe, woot for multi target aggro = multi shot :D

Cheers,

Well, seeing Critical Strike Rating and Spell Power on the same items is going to be interesting at least. :)

imo the trees are very bloated at the moment. There are too many talents that are almost 'must have', and knowing blizzard they'll fix it by nerfing or combining some talents.

Honestly I think they are looking really good right now. I like the fact that you have to make choices in each tree. Yes, I would love to have pretty much everything in the Survival tree and still have points to put into Marks but you can't always have what you want. Just my 2cp.

I mean yeah, I love to have unique pets, and I'll probably take the talent just for that, but can I get a damage boost? A new cool ability? Dual wielding pistols while my pet dances the fandango over the corpse of my enemy?

Meh. I hope they add something to that.

Your pet gets 20 extra levels of talent points...from the existing talent trees that doesn't suck.

From what I'm reading the talent trees still pretty much balance out the way we're used to. One is RAID DPS, one is PVP, and one is raid buffing.

I'm raid dps now and it looks like my spec doesn't change TOO much.

http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=cebM0gxRfuMesz0eVbZx 51/15/5 seems give a couple points to move around but something close to that is likely to be cookie-cutter raid dps at this point. whatever works. I don't personally care HOW we get to the top of the DPS charts, just that we get there!

yeah. the new talents look kinda cool but overall i dont see to much change in the roles each tree will play. in addition, survival will continue to be a "highly geared" hunter tree, only worth it once you reach a certain gear level.

the 8 second cool down on the return of mana/rage/etc makes survival hunters way below shadow priests on raid utility so they will prob. not be as highly desired as dps speced hunters unless you have the gear to make the return worth it.

Loyalty, Training Points and the hunter Beast Training button no longer exist. Hunter pets can now learn all skills at their level. They will get new ranks automatically as they gain levels.

So does this mean that I no longer have to feed my pet and that he won't drop a loyalty level mid boss fight? If so that would be awesome!

Oh and this build could be fun for a total of 10% increased damage to tracked targets with Serpent Sting on them.

You're thinking of happiness. The Loyalty pet talent should be your new best friend.
