I'm starting this topic to offer a place for the guilds who are involved with LO's raiding to introduce themselves to potential members, and also to give newcomers to this site/organization an idea of just how broad our membership is. Here's ours: Shadowguarde GM: Dulin (also an LO overall lead) Membership: About 15-20 active players, many with multiple alts Recruitment: Open and semiactive About us: We are a small guild of friends, many RL or from prior online experiences. We tend to use the guild line for 5-mans where possible, and for a great deal of chatter and joking. This guild is more social than anything, as almost all of our raiders are involved with LO in varying degrees. We have a charter for KZ with LO on Sunday mornings, as many of us are on the East Coast. --

Misanthropic GM: Thalaros Membership: Around 20 active players, another 10 semi active and a few faces that poke in once in a blue moon. Tons of alts too. Recruitment: Open, and while not overly active, we don't have an aversion to new faces. About us: Misanthropic has been around for about 4 months now, though many in the guild have known each other in game or in real life for quite some time now, and there's been some newer faces who have come and fit right in. Don't let the guild name fool you, we're actually a pretty friendly, joking bunch. --

Guild: Nu Tir GM: Kaeble (shared leadership duties with Senzoo (an overall LO lead), and Daphyd (an LO lead emeritus)) Guild Membership: 30ish active players, 160 some toons Recruitment: We consider new people on request and on recommendation of Nu Tir members on an individual basis. About us: Nu Tir is a family/friends guild active since July '05. We had some open raiding of Zul'Gurub, then Onyxia for a couple months before joining forces with LO. Raiding is all LO now, most of which occurs in the Night Watch charter, which is led by Nu Tir officers, and Felada, who's just special. I don't know if Few Against the Many is accepting new members but FATM usually has a small application process (not needed for leftovers of course) and I believe an age restriction for players younger than 18 [not always necessary but they have had some small trouble with younger players at times and if you feel you have a mature enough attitude than go ahead and apply ^_^{again not needed for Leftovers}) FATM also has I think 20 or so active members, a few smart mouths... scratch that, many smart mouthed players :) and currently do their raids with the Leftovers FATM can be reached at http://fewagainstthemany.guildportal.com if you have any questions or would like to apply. Guild: Dynasty of Ruin GM: Nezchia Vice GM: Susanoh/Enodia Membership: currently about 10-15 active members, with alts Recruiting: Open, semiactive Idea of guild: Many of us were members of another guild that disbanded and have made another guild. Usually we socialize and joke around at times, sometimes we look to 5-mans and the like within the guild and we try to get to know everyone in the guild. Majority of us do raid on LO on several charters and ourselves do have a charter as well (Cenarion Stoolie). Our goal is to have fun and progress as we're doing so. Not limited to raiding, our guild as a fair amount of people who also pvp the BGs and Arenas. --

You know... I really hate to say it, but this thread is likely going to come as a surprise to a lot of people... or at least, informative in ways they didn't have. Not many of us actually have any clue as to just which guilds have members in LO. I know I'm almost always surprised when I mouseover someone and go 'oh, they're in THAT guild? Huh! I didn't know that!' Unless, of course, it's Nu Tir. Then the reaction's slightly different: "Huh, I didn't know was one of Daphyd's kids... damn, he and Therazita sure are... prolific..." ;) --

I kinda want to touch on what Dahlily said about our guild, "Southern Knights." We are a very small guild (only about 20ish folks that play), and are all real-life friends. Maxus is our esteemed benevolent dictator, and we are his willing lackies ;) But, in all seriousness, we know every single member of our guild. Many of them going on 15 years. Originally, our rule was simple - you either knew Maxus personally, or a member of SK that did know Maxus personally, vouched for you. Those members that knew Maxus, knew that to act a tard included at least one officer of SK coming over to your house and punching you square in the mouth. If you vouch for someone? You are promising to take that punch in the kisser if your buddy acts the ass. So far, only one voucher has had to take a "punchretard" - the method works well ;) That said, Leftovers has grown our membership. Most of our members met Kav and Kassai through raids here, and became good friends. We staged a big "Meet Kav and Kassai" party in Dallas, just so we could travel cross country and swear them into the guild :D Secret handshakes and all that. And hell, they spent Christmas with our family this year. Even an insular bunch like us - has found some close friends in this crazy place ;D That said, we are still a close-knit crew. But, we have screenshots of when we stole Felada to our guild for a night! Someday, we'll keep her damnit! SOMEDAY! --

Guild: Relentless Guild leader: Our guild is run by leadership council made up of Delina, Dariar and Xeonio Recruitment: Although we aren't actively recruiting, we're always open to applications submitted by good, dedicated, fun-loving players About us: Our guild started out as friends moving from another guild. We started out raiding almost exclusively through LO, and our guild membership has increased from people joining us after running with our charter. However, We're still a fairly small, close-knit guild. We try to run guild runs of Karazhan and the occasional ZA, but all of our 25-man raiding is done through the LO community. |
