I've got my shaman up to 65, and am getting excited to start raiding. I want to get in and help charters that need it as soon as possible, but I don't want people to think I'm a complete tool by signing up for everything too early. So what I'm wondering is where should I try to be before I start signing up for raids. Should I really try to be solid blue? Is trying to get in on a badge run to gear up tolerable, or even expected? With enough honor/arena farming I can get myself some fantastic gear, but not before going insane. I've cleared Hellfire and about half of Zanger, so I'm getting to the point now where I'm going to have to consider reputation, mat farming, and the like while grinding through my last handful of levels. So what should I be looking to do as I slide into 70, and what needs to be done between that and finally signing up with my shiney new CH spammer? --Riz --

For whatever reason, shammies gear up pretty fast in karazhan. If you can find a group willing to take your undergeared shaman to kara a few times you can catch up really fast. Barring that, see what you can get with quest, rep, and crafted blues and/or purples. There's some good stuff out there that isn't too hard to get. -F |

At this point in the release cycle I think signing up for KZ, Gruul and Mags as a just dinged 70 character is ok. The core of almost all groups running those places will have T5 geared folks who will be able to easily carry an undergeared character or two (who make great loot sponges). And a raider who knows what they are doing is far more important that gear--90% of the time. --
