No bosses in Sunwell crush, that's correct. Makes Sunwell a very bear friendly instance.

For the crushing hits. I find using a combo of Badge of tenacity and moroes pocket watch is one of the best. If used together they do stack. Currently my Dodge is 45% unbuffed with 33k armor and 12k health. Raid buffed it works out to be 48 - 50% Dodge, 34k armor and 16k health. If i use both trinkets at the same time it pushes me to 75 - 80% dodge. Yeah good luck hitting me Prince. timing is everything of course. well only if u want to make it easier on your healers.

And BTW i have main tanked kara since the beggining with less then what you have currently for gear and stats. So you will do fine.

As to Crushes and Dodge, that's a misnomer. You will always get Crushed 15% of the time, regardless of whether you have 20% dodge or 85% dodge. It's just that at 85% dodge -all- the damage you take is going to be crushing. It will be the same amount of crushing damage, but it will seem spikier because it is coming in bursts without smaller damage showing up in between. In other words there is no reason to avoid dodge at all so long as you aren't sacrificing in other areas to get it. The only real downside to high dodge is the potential for being rage starved and losing some threat generation capability.

Edit: Also worth keeping in mind that Blizz is moving away from Crushes as a mechanic (Archimonde doesn't for instance, nor Sunwell I believe). Additionally all enemies in sunwell have a buff which decreases their chance to be dodged by 20% in order to mitigate the crushing removal...so 40% dodge in Sunwell is only 20%, even though you won't get Crushed 15% of the time

Let's just say some bosses you don't want to get chain-crushed by if you can help it.

Also, I think I heard something about them removing crushing blows in WotLK? It may have just been a rumor though.

Yes at 85% dodge, you will get chain crushed. It may look spiky, but is the same as healing someone with 40% dodge except you aren't having to also heal the reg hits. It's the same with warriors as their parry/dodge increase, their incoming damage seems spikier due to higher overall avoidance.

Point two: a crush on a bear is not a lot more damage due to AC than a block on an equivalent geared warrior in mid/late karazhan gear.

I'm resto at the moment, but I have a good tanking set.. You're more than good enough to OT kara, can probably main-tank it with a couple of healers over 1500 healing. I started doing kara with around 30% dodge, 22k armor, 12.5k health. Right now I'm sitting at 37% dodge, 26k armor, 14k health unbuffed. I'm good for tanking SSC, and have done so before. The stats are kind of arguable for what exactly you need for different bosses.. for instance, I've seen warriors in full blue gear tank Prince and do fine. Truly depends on how skilled the people you're raiding with are, how good your healers are and what your guild or raid group requires as far as gear quality.
