Yeah but Raf, it is now possible to have 4/4 T6 and 2/4 T5 because of Sunwell drops. So you can have your cake and eat it too. :P

while yes it's possible, there's no reason to take the hit for the other stats. I love my 2p tier 5, and won't break it until 4/5 t6, but i also won't miss it once it's gone. One thing that i'd advocate is taking off t5 gear to break the bonus, and then practice pet control, because many fights in BT and sunwell, while your pet can DPS, there are things that will 1-2 shot them, if you're not paying attention, no matter how much healing they're getting.

I'm Marksman on Dulin, and likely to stay that way. As has been said, there are a lot of things in the T6+ instances that will simply splatter a pet if you slip up a bit. Personally, I'd rather operate at a consistent 90% of peak than drop to 75% at a critical moment. And with the amount of 'ignore armor' gear available at the higher levels... it just doesn't make as much sense to rely on something as fragile as my pet for such a massive amount of my DPS. On Ekaterika, my Survivalism Experiment... well, it'd be silly to not push the experiment to its illogical conclusion. As it is, I'm looking at the amount of +hit I'll need to reach cap and pondering how that changes other gear. (Don't tell the rogues that some hunters can reach hit cap at 47 Hit Rating. They'll cry.) --

Making up a draenai hunter as well to maybe switch over in Wrath when gear doesn't matter at the beginning :) +hit Aura plus free HoT, yes please. So wish they would just let me change Ery's race to a draenai >< Leveling as BM tho, probably switch to SV once Wrath comes out. Cheers, E --

And the ability to stack Mend Pet + Gift of the Naaru... I've been able to fight mobs that should've splattered the pet hard. ;) --
