Hey all, My tree druid is very squishy and usually I'm a dead duck when I draw aggro. Sometimes barkskin can negate some of the damage and buy me enough time for the tank to take aggro back but I had heard that sometimes you can get rid of aggro by switching to cat form and hitting cower. So my fingers aren't very fast and by the time I do all of this, I'm dead. Is there a macro you can create to switch to cat form and cower? If so, please enlighten me. I am computer illiterate. :) Thanks :) |

Every flavour of beastly. |
Shifting to cat form will trigger a global cooldown so a single-press macro isn't possible as far as I know. You could make a button that you can spam but you'd still be waiting that 1.5s before cower goes off (cower incidentally is only a threat reduction of around 1000, ie. the equivalent of a 2k heal, pretty crappy imo) I've seen resto druids have better luck shifting into bear form honestly, I know you guys don't have a lot of armor and often are wearing cloth... but multiplying that armor by 5 and gaining an extra 25% stamina has got to be a good thing. In case you still want that spammable cower button: #showtooltip Cower /castsequence reset=5 !cat form, cower --

Yeah there are two basic responses if you pull aggro as a healer:
In the former case I would go with a variation of the feral 'oh shit' macro (/cancelform /use Master Healthstone /use Nightmare Seed /use Charged Crystal Focus /use Super Healing Potion /cast Dire Bear Form). You could throw Barkskin in there but generally bearform provides more mitigation and doesn't require you to wait on a GCD, which can make the difference between getting hit in caster form or not. In the latter case you have a few options available to you: a macro that you can click repeatedly to cast catform and cower (as Ixa suggests), or the use of items that reduce threat such as Shrouding Potions, Timelapse Shard, Jewel of Charismatic Mystique, or a combination of both (/cancelform /use Shrouding Potion /cast Cat Form ). However, Shrouding potions eat your potion timer and are less effective than Cower, and I wouldn't recommend the rare trinket either (5min cd, no stats), although the epic trinket is a reasonable choice for fights where extra stamina comes in handy. Most importantly, remember that when you cast your HoTs is key, as well as the use of a decent threat meter (Omen2). |
