You know, Cat - I had picked up a pair of Bladed Shoulderpads of the Merciless as kinda a "You know, they are better than tank shoulders - and they have some hit..." weeks ago - but I never put gems in them and they are sitting in my bank. Looking at what happens when I drop two Inscribed Noble Topazs - or hell just they +8Bold Rubys in there.... sweet grief. Why the holy snot am I not wearing these? Yeah, that gets fixed tonight. And ... wait... Fel Leather items? OMG you mean Quin can actually do something other than make armor patches? *blinkie* Damn. Who woulda thought Eaton should be wearing dead animals? I know that the leather is probably not the brightest thing to PvP in - but for PvE - I gotta rewire my brain it seems. Total thanks for that tip, Cat. I just hadn't been thinking toward leather :) --

Get made fun of? PShaw! They learned not to tease me long ago when I got that dorky clown shield. Maxus: Danm Quin, Eaton's shield looks like a clown took a dump on it! Eaton stops shield slamin' Maxus pulls agro Maxus is corpse Quin: Max, don't taunt the shield - or he won't taunt for you! ;) --

I have a 62 arms/fury mace spec war. What kinda stats/gear should I be looking for at 70? And is using a 2h in a raid decent for dps? Or should I pick up the off hand talent in the fury tree and just dual wield maces for pve dps? PS Is endless rage (41 talent in the arms tree) worth it with a 2h or worth it at all? --

And I'm in a weirder spot than you Dal - I'm a PROT warrior, trying to figure out the best use of DPS when I'm the "odd tank out" in KZ :) *sigh* I so miss fury *CRY* There are plenty of fights that need two tanks - but, on those odd occasions where only one tank is needed (Prince, Curator, Maiden, Nightbane - and heck, no tank at all on Aran), I really want to get the gear to maximize what little DPS I will be doing. But, I have to wonder - since I don't have precision, am I really doing myself a wrong by using two weapons. My hit needs to be through the roof (which is getting there with the leather gear I'm supplementing with). Should I shift to a 2hweapon? How does devastate work with a 2h weapon? Makes me ponder. Somedays, I mourn the loss of my weird Fury/Prot hybrid spec - then, I hit something with Shield Slam and giggle like a schoolgirl. It may be a agro crutch, but damnit I like it. --

Heh, Kor's also a prot warrior, though he's spent his time as a fury.(And I miss it some days) Regarding damage, even for a prot warrior without precision, I highly recommend dual wielding. You have access to the 10% more damage with one handed weapons (Which I recommend for most tanks for agro purposes anyways) AND you can devastate only with a 1H. Why devastate you ask? Because it rocks. Seriously, 9 rage for an instant you can spam that does reasonable damage? It's only drawback is its high agro generation, but as you're prot you won't have a ton of other damage to throw around, so as long as you don't spam it early (and you have a good tank) it works really well to swap to zerker and devastate like a crazy person. Gear List is taking a bit to put together. And I don't want to be fired, so it'll take a bit longer. :P --

Lol. Yea I have an arms/fury spec thats decent for tanking apparently. I'll get a link to my talents when I get home. Still not sure if I should dual wield for pve/raiding dps or use a 2h sinse I'm arms. Soloing and pvping its hands down 2h for my spec.

*ahh* didn't think about that Kor. I forget that one-handed talent also applies to that off hand. Yeah, I can't see swinging 2h at all then. Better to stack some +hit than do that. Especially since Whirlwind also takes both weapons into account now.

Just so you know though, in 10-mans and for your personal damage, you can't beat a good fury build. But arms has its beauty. And trust Kahlil completely! Dual wield devastate does a fair amount more damage than I thought. You certainly won't top any chart but I was satisfied. And yes if you're prot you're better off dual wielding. --

I specced into a PvE dps build on Dherisis (formerly Amirite) with a Gorehowl and most of my fury set... with imp slam and ww/hs spam, I was doing 1k dps on trash in Mags (no WF), and slightly lower on Mags himself (leaving out the times I had to run to click). The 4% damage boost is awesome for your furies, enhance shammies, hunters, and rogues too. --
