did the math and all and i couldnt help but notice when i blast something with a lb my damage changes ranging from oddly 800 to 1300. This is of course without crits or trinks going off. i have 528 or so nature damage and i was wondering if theyre was anyway i could stablize that to a more constant output. --

Most likely you are getting partial resists to your spell (I believe shows up as dmg mitigation in WWS reports). My Starfire and Wrath are the same way. SF can hit from anywhere bet. 1800-2400. I also see odd numbers like 3000 sometimes when SF crits but then is partially resisted. I also think the more bonus damage you have the larger the spread can be. I have always looked at bonus spell damage as the maximum possible extra damage (i.e. increases damage "by up to" XX amount)...most times the bonus damage added is not your maximum potential. However, I could be totally wrong so am interested in others' theories. Bosh |

Elemental shaman damage will always have a nice range on it due to the fact that Lighting Overload shows up the same as a lightning bolt, but does half damage, and the fact we are so crit reliant. Its funny to look at my WWS because it will say my LBs range from 1000 (LO Regular hit) up to 5000 (Crit with Stormstrike up). Not much you can do about it. Now, if partial resists are a problem, the easiest thing you can do is get 20 spell pen to cloak. I wouldn't suggest going out and getting spell pen gear, because aside from KZ, there are no raiding mobs in the game with high nature resistance (Aside from Gurtogg Bloodboil). Its just somethin you'll have to deal with otherwise.
