Charter Warrior |
In order to make loot decisions a little faster and simpler, the Charter Leads and Leads have decided to modify the loot procedures. Specifically: 1. Loot is now done in a single stage in which you send a tell to the loot master expressing "shroud," "standard" or "save." 2. The roll is capped at a short time (usually 10 seconds), and to make this possible, you do not have to know your points to Shroud (though if you do, letting the LM know is a great idea!) 3. Normal raiders now have that third choice, "save," to express "save from DE." Standard is still the normal roll you should use if you want an item but are willing to pass to others. Save is to be used when you basically don't want the item but would take it to make sure it doesn't get burned. 4. If you Shroud for loot and it turns out you are the only one who wanted it, your roll will automatically get downgraded to Standard (10 points). We hope this will make everyone's night a little faster and loot slightly easier. We are constantly evaluating new ideas to make life easier and have a few ideas up on the table, but in a loot system even small changes have big impacts, so we're considering them carefully before we bring them into play :) For the rulesmongers among us, the policy was changed to: quote: III.D: Loot Distribution Except as noted in IV, "item" for the purposes of this system is any item drop of epic quality or better (Epic+). III.D.1: Procedure When an item drops, the loot master will ask the raid to send whisper them with "shroud," "standard" or "save," indicating their level of interest in the item. If a raider does not know their points, they may still indicate "shroud." A raider with more than 10 points may still indicate "save" if they so wish. Raiders get a preset amount of time (10 seconds for most) to respond. When the 10 seconds is over, the item is given to whoever won the roll, or disenchanted. The rules for how the loot master decides the winner are listed below. The loot master may not accept any rolls after the roll has been closed and the winner announced. After the winner is announced, they may pick it up. If an item drops the loot master has a interest in, the loot master must choose another trusted party to handle the rolls for that item. A loot master may not award an item to themselves. III.D.2: Downgrades If only one raider responds to the loot call, and they say "shroud," their roll is automatically downgraded to a "standard" roll so that they will pay the 10 point cost. If a person says "shroud" or "standard" and their points are less than 10, their roll is downgraded to "save" by the loot master. Rolls are never upgraded. III.D.3: Loot Win Decision - Shroud: The person to Shroud with the highest points wins the item, and pays 1/2 points. (See III.D.1: if the winner is the only one who whispered the loot master, their roll is considered a Standard.) - Standard: If no one Shrouds, all people who called "standard" roll "/random 100" and the highest roll wins. If only one person called "standard" that person gets the item automatically. - Save: If no one does "shroud" or "standard," all people who called "save" roll "/random 100" and the highest roll wins. If only one person called "standard" that person gets the item automatically. - Disenchant: If no one expressed an interest in Shroud, Standard or Save, the item may not be picked up and used. The loot master may choose to Disenchant the item or Vendor it for cash. - Ties: In the event of a tie or ties on any roll, a /random 100 roll is between the tied persons is used to determine the winner of said roll. The old policy was: quote: III.D: Loot distribution Except as noted in IV, "item" for the purposes of this system is any item drop of epic qualit or better (Epic+). There are 3 potential rolls for any item, done in the following order. The first rolls supercede the subsequent, moving "down" the following list of rolls only if the item in question is not awarded. III.D.1 Shroud Roll For each drop, one call for "Shroud Roll". A player must have at least 10 points to roll on the Shroud Roll. Each player rolls their current point total by a /roll x-x, where x=their current points. The winner of this roll pays the GREATER of either: • 1/2 his or her points, rounded to two decimal places, or • 10 points, and collects the item. III.D.2 Standard Roll If no one rolls, then a "Standard" roll is called. A player must have at least 10 points to roll on a “Standard” roll. This is a random 100 roll. The winner then MUST collect the item, at the universal, “Standard” cost of 10 points. III.D.3 Save roll If no one rolls or can roll for either of the above, a “Save” (Save from DE) roll is called. ONLY players with less than 10 points may roll on a "Save" roll. This is also a random roll. The winner of this roll pays ALL of their current points (even if zero) for the item. III.E Ties In the event of a tie or ties on any roll, a random 100 roll is used to determine the winner of said roll. Happy raiding! |
