Is a tasty nubcake. |
Hola! :D Looking for some tips from my disciplined and holy friends. So, this spec is what I used for my solo grind to 70. I'm pretty happy with everything except for Martyrdom which has never really done too much for me. I'll be frank, I think it kinda blows. It'll either proc while my shield is up anyway or the unusual event I pull aggro while Fade is down, and a vigilant tank will Taunt it off, making the buff a moot point. That leaves me with 2 pts I don't know what to do with. They need to stay in Discipline or I lose Inner Focus. As far as the other choices, I'm positive I want to keep Unbreakable Will over Wand Spec. and Imp. Shield is a must for me, given that in Shadowform even an extra 200 or so damage is all that stands between me and my lifebar... and when Inner Fire and Shadowform's damage mitigation help make it last longer, it's not all that bad. So, the question I pose is as follows:: Is Improved Fortitude a big enough improvement over Martyrdom to warrant a respec? If not, would Imp.Fort or a mediocre 2 points in Silent Resolve be beneficial at all? --

Or... I think you should definately switch those 2 to imp fort. regular fort at 70 is 79 sta, imp fort is 102, that's 230 health and it does make a difference. Also, now that your 70 you might want to conisder moving a few points around to get some threat reduction if you would like to have a better shot at going on instances, you'll also be able to nuke more between your fade cooldowns. I'd recomend taking the points our of Shadow Power (+15% crit) and pick up that last point in meditation and dump 3 into Shadow Afinity. That leaves you with 1 point left, and I don't see a clear choice for where to put it. | |

Imp shield is not worth the points, period. Way too little gained for too many points. Meliah's posted spec is very good, only thing I would change is taking points out of imp mindblast and imp fade (lol) and putting them in either shadow reach (must have imo) or shadow focus, if your +hit isn't too hot. To answer the original question: depending on your respec cost, it may not be worth it to change just those 2 points, but if you decide to change your spec a little more based on the feedback here, then I'd say at least give it a shot :) |

A little bit of mana reduction goes a long way, and I cannot count the times that Meditation, Inner Focus, and Healing Focus have been a boon to me. Granted, only 2/5 Shadow Focus requires you gear to correct it, but you could easily shift the 8% reduction of 1/3 Shadow Affinity into it as well. 4/5 Shadow Weaving I find is more than enough - just hotkey Rank 1 SW:P if you want to stack at little to no mana cost. The 2/5 Imp. Mind Blast is strictly to make its cooldown a 2:1 with Mind Flay channels, those points could go elsewhere as well. Feel free to ask any questions or pick it apart in any way, just my 2c :) |

Thanks for all your input. I ultimately decided to respec out of the +crit in the Shadow tree and Martyrdom to get further into Disc to max out Imp. Fort, in addition to Meditation and Mental Agility. I'm still in love with Imp Shield though :D --

My priest uses this spec, a spirit-heavy build: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/priest/talents.html?500231013050512030000035251002020050000000500000000000000000000 It's good for grinding, especially if I run into multiple easy kills in a row. PvP is fun with this spec, too. Yes, I know that it isn't effective in the long run because of itemization, but it's a fun spec to grind and PvP on, especially when you get a HUGE spellpower boost. Imagine hitting an enemy for tons more than you just hit him for 5 seconds ago. It makes me giggle. <3 --

I can see how that build would be fun for grinding with spirit tap, but if you really wanted to output damage, move those 5 points into PI and finish off Force of Will, and swing the other 2 points into Surge of Light. The chain crits will be fixed come 2.1, but it'll still be a very useful as free dps and you're that much more likely to get the crits from Force of Will. But if you won't do that, but you do love PvP, then I must recomend putting 2 points in imp mana burn! Worth it's weight in gold in pvp... expecially arena pvp against those damn healadins. |
