Instead of a simple "I blame Alrix," in the expansion you will be able to gank Alrix. |

Well here's what I'm wondering... 1. will there be new servers, or do you play on the old ones? 2. will you have to start over with new characters from lvl 1 on the expansion, or will you be able to level you existing characters to 70? 3. Will non-expansion and expansion characters interact? |

1. I'm pretty sure the servers will stay as-is, and updated to support the expansion pack. (See item 3.) 2. From the articles published so far, I believe you should be able to take your level 60 characters further. Asking players to throw away 1-2 years' worth of work, fun, and character development would be a suicidal move. 3. Again, from published articles thus far, it appears that those with and without expansion packs will still interact on the same server, but to access areas such as Outlands you will need to have purchased the expansion pack. This would be relatively easy to implement: Upon stepping into the Dark Portal, the system checks if you have the expansion pack installed. If you do, you walk through and enter the Outlands. If you don't, you get a message saying "you are unable to cross through the portal." The same check could be implemented for the instance portals of Medivh's Tower and the Caverns of Time. Not having an expansion pack would still allow you to play in the pre-expansion areas. I suspect that regions such as the Blood Elves' starting area will be delivered to all players via the internet update method so as to keep things consistent for everyone, with the "meatier" content (the aforementioned Outlands and other raid zones) kept exclusively for expansion pack players. |

Cloth: Not just for Paladins |
:-O Just like when people get MC'ed, everyone else seems way too gleeful to beat them into a pulp. *cleanses off poisons and curse of doom* The (FFA?) PvP thing could be fun though - I had no interest in dealing with it while I was levelling, but now it could be a fun diversion. But then I play a restoration druid, which means I am pretty good at running away and tend to be way too much effort to actually try and kill. And I do about as much damage as a wet noodle. Anyhow, what is with the lazy re-use of the night-elf models for the blood-elves damn it? If I start a new character horde side I want something that looks different. --

There appear to be subtle differences in the Blood Elf models shown in the screenshots versus the existing Highborne Elf models used elsewhere in the game. (Most notably in Scholomance.) Still, it makes me wonder what it is they did that broke all the Highborne Elf animations in the game. Last time I was in Scholomance, it was like fighting mannequins. Or wax figures. Either way, it is really creepy... |

Yes, especially since when they die they stay standing up. Looking back through an empty room and having four dead high-elves looking back at you is scary, in a kinda horror movie way.

I think they are in the process of 'upgrading' the high elf models to something that isn't copy-and-pasted code from the Night Elves.

It means we will have to goto the outlands in groups for safty and I think it will be a ton of fun.... Of course I am one of the more active pvpers on the server so recipie cum grano salis.

For complete safety, it's best to bring Sayuke along. Now, before some of you beat me up, let me explain: As Plato and I found out yesterday to much amusement, the Horde are way too busy beating up Sayuke to even bother with the rest of us. For as long as we can keep her alive ("Heal Sayuke!!!") she has unshakable Horde aggro. I haven't laughed that hard in an AB match before. |

NOT REALLY A DOCTOR |
Zactly. There are two classes of models in the game - normal models and player models. Player races are all the playable classes, in addition to the goblins. Yeah, really. Normal models are, well, normal. Each has their own set of common named animations. If an animation is attempted that doesn't exist, the model just stands there. I'm sure you've eaten some orange candy and ended up as an armored undead before, right? Ever try jumping? No animation, you just hop there standing upright. Same thing. The 1.8 patch probably just broke the animation names for the high elf models. There's an immense amount of copy-and-paste behind the scenes... for example, Thunderaan is basically Ragnaros with a sword. All the animations are exactly the same. --
